OCTOBER UNDERGROUND CALLS

Some surprises came out in the very last days of October. Worthy releases by some awesome bands. This happened after I published my regular TOP 20 Monthly list for October. So I decided to include those releases in a separate article, adding few more very good records which came out earlier in October. Anyway, I was accused that I'd got too mainstream and commercial with my October Top list, and maybe it was time to share some crypt stuff too.

I have never done such post-publication, which just claims the quality of the tenth month of 2020. There are another 15 last-minute recommendations below, that you might want to check if you care for the Underground. I actually drowned into these quite fast. Let's just not forget about them, they are worthy indeed.

Thanks to a couple of metalheads out there (you know who you are!) for recommending so much great music!

ESOCTRILIHUM - F'htansg
Release Date: 31 October

If you follow the UG, then you know the qualities of Asthâghul, and what kind of magic he can deliver.

SORCIER DES GLACES -
Release Date: 31 October

Primitive Cold metal. SDG builds great freezing and haunting atmosphere, and it's their eighth album now, which deserves solid attention.
ARKHERON THODOL - Rituals of Sovereign Heart
Release Date: 30 October

Black metal featured up to grandiose here. So many nuances, moods, parts, crossing borders...
LURE - Morbid Funeral
Release Date: 31 October

Mindblowing demo by the Frenchman! A must listen by every BM fan and French BM worshiper.
MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY - The Bodycount Continues
Release Date: 31 October

The second album in 5 months. On top, we had Anaal Nathrakh record in October too. I feel this one is weaker than the debut and repeats an already explored formula This is big minus.
PSYCHONAUT 4 - Beautifall
Release Date: 30 October

More consistent and sophomore than before. Matured. Lacks of scary feeble shrieks that much, which is so fine with me. Better than before. A journey to end with cut veins.

ANTZAAT - For You Men Who Gazed Into The Sun
Release Date: 30 October

I really hate the Sargeist copy/paste here. Probably this is why I had hard times listening to it. Don't get me wrong, this is an excellent album. I wish it had its own identity. The guys can do it...

THOU & EMMA RUTH RUMBLE - May Our Chambers Be Full
Release Date: 30 October

I was surprised.

MÄLEFICIENT - Night of Eternal Darkness (NP - XIII)
Release Date: 13 October

USBM. Good new album.

MONSTROUS - Dawnsleeper
Release Date: 28 October

Another Rogga Johanson and Johny Petterson project feat. their bandmembers from another bands...You know what to expect.
SHAGOR - Sotteklugt
Release Date: 30 October

Nederlands delivers! Black metal in my veins.

TE RUKI - E Tika Mateo
Release Date: 25 October

BM coming from French Polynesia. Featuring those ritualistic (voodoo) drums...
VALE - Our Denouement
Release Date: 30 October

A record so appropriate for the autumn - melancholic, sad, dreaming... Post black which takes you away...

BELTEZ - A Grey Chill & a Whisper
Release Date: 30 October

Intense BM from Germany. Grey and hateful.

LAMENT/ AS BRIGHT AS STARS - Presence In Absence
Release Date: 30 October

Post-black/blackgaze split that might blow your mind if you just let yourself and enjoy the music.

LAMP OF MURMUUR you will ask. We may have a talk...
