MY TOP 20 FOR MARCH 2021

Image
March 2021 was an intense and very solid month. I found for myself some great albums among the hundreds released. And a lot that I can live without at all. Mare Cognitum's Solar Paroxysm is definitely my album of the month, although it has a very solid competition. All the other most important albums for me are listed below in no particular order.  And even more - those who were shortlisted, but didn't make the cut. So here you are - my twenty top choices for your pleasure with links, and another 18 which you might want to consider. A solid month indeed! I'm lazy and unmotivated this month, so no comments on each of the albums. Listen to them all!  MARE COGNITUM - Solar Paroxysm Release Date: 19 March Bandcamp DVNE - Etemen Ænka Release Date: 19 March Bandcamp SEPULCROS - Vazio Release Date: 10 March Bandcamp KRALLICE - Demonic Wealth Release Date: 5 March Bandcamp LUNAR SHADOW - Wish to Leave Release Date: 19 March  Bandcamp MEMORIAM - To The End Release Date: 26 March Spo

MY TOP 20 FOR FEBRUARY 2021

I guess I was too picky in February, cause originally my list contained fewer choices than usual. Around 10. I thought in general February was weaker than January, or some other months. But I changed my mind in the end. I must point out immediately that the originally chosen ten albums were/are powerful enough and actually have the staying power to be among the top albums for 2021 at all. Furthermore, originally I included five honorable mentions. But everything changed! I spent a bit more time with certain albums, and there was a huge releasing schedule for February, so I could pick more...  So in the end, I present here the usual top 20 (in no particular order, except my No.1) with the albums that deserve time and attention. Some will definitely stay a longer time with me, some probably won't make it. But for today I think these 20 albums are good and require listening. My album of the month is definitely Suffering Hour's The Cyclic Reckoning, followed closely by the rest bel

MY ALL TIME 25 GRUNGE ALBUMS

Image
Photo by Jose Antonio Gallego Vázquez via Unsplash Grunge has never been my preferred style, but at the beginning of the 90s it was huge and I was definitely put under heavy influence by it. The genre emerged like a tsunami and quickly became the trendiest thing putting aside heavy metal music. Under the grunge genre, some of the most important albums in music history were released.

MY TOP 20 FOR JANUARY 2021

Aaaand it's another year that just commenced. This means we are going to drown with persistence in the swamp of new releases again and again, and this will never end.

TIME FLIES: 30 ALBUMS THAT TURN 30 IN 2021

Happy New Year and welcome in 2021. May it be better than the last year for every one of us. As long as the metal releases are concerned, 2020 was a tremendous year, but we already know this.  Now let's get back in time. Today's publication is about proving that time flies, we get old, and the music is forever. In 1991 were released some of the most important albums in the history of metal. In 2021 they turn 30. Damn it! 30 years are quite a long time, ffs! Maybe I should do a similar list of important albums that turn 40 too?... Let me list (in no order) some of those albums, that are considered as klassiks. The albums that changed the direction of the music, defined the bands' careers, and are still among the most played ones. The albums that are still important for me. I'm sure that everybody knows all the albums and mentions below. Let's remember together the good old times with my top picks that turn 30 in 2021. METALLICA - Metallica GUNS'N'ROSES - Use
