Another month has gone by. The year is almost over and it's that time when AOTY lists are buzzing in preparations. November? Oh well, another 400 new releases! Here's my hot take - almost all of the albums we withness lately are equally bad so that we enjoy almost every new release to the extent it is the greatest album ever...Does it make sense? Are there really strong albums? Yes, there are. Very few! Are there albums with great staying and stating power? Yes, there are but very few. Lists are momentary snapshots of our moods, emotions, situation, environment, circumstances we are into. But how often do we return to ALL the albums we praise? Hmmm... I am realizing that I tend to listen without a heart but to judge based on my experience. Very few albums really move me deeply as before when all the klassics were born.
