MY TOP LIST OF MARCH 2024

Here comes the flood again. Drowning everything on its way. And then drowns into oblivion the week before, the month before, the year before... 

This March was back to the regular - so many releases! It's been hard to catch up with everything, and I did my best to listen to some of the albums properly. It is impossible to go through all of them. My notes include three and a half pages of new releases.

In the end, I somehow trimmed everything. Below you will find my list that features 27 (FFS!) albums, and after it - a below-the-line list of the bands I left out but that are worthy of at least a listen. I recommend that my dearest reader check this list of bands and their new albums too. 

Invincible Shield is the obvious album of the month. You know these lists here usually suggest albums in no particular order (kinda), and I also recommend checking even the last ones in the selection. I admit that I am a big fan of these... 

Overall almost everything is like fast food. You eat, you are full now, and you got fat, but in a while, you are still hungry. With so many releases it is difficult to get quality. Everything is equally bad in a way. Very few bands and albums might have the staying power and the power at all. Next week comes, and another portion of fast food. You eat, without enjoying the food. That's why it was difficult for me to list down the present list.

Maybe you are tired of reading one and the same intro every time, my dear reader. This is where I leave these thoughts and albums so as not to forget about them. If you know better, let me know.

Night Verses is an obvious favorite but they released the basis for their album in 2023, and now it has an expanded version. 

So many albums! And my notebook includes more as mentioned at the beginning of this article. Who knows how these will evolve in time and what will stay with me in the future. Today I felt this way, tomorrow might be different.

MY TOP 20 OF JANUARY 2024

The new year started with a kick in the ass. It's like 2023 never existed or everything merges in one big whole. The time is merciless. It is already the end of January and it is that time again when I usually post my favorite new releases of the respective month. January'24 could have been more inspiring, or after THAT 2023, now everything seems weaker? I do believe a lot of the below-listed albums are going to drown and I won't return much to them in the year. Still, few are going to be on my AOTY list.  What else? We have to be very grateful that in 2024 we have Saxon at full speed and they are releasing this good album. Naturally, it is my album of the month, closely followed by some very good UG releases. MY TOP 50 DEATH METAL ALBUMS OF 2024

I already published  MY TOP 50 BLACK METAL ALBUMS OF 2024 , so here comes the DEATH METAL of 2024! Death Metal did OK in 2024, with some really impressive releases! Now I take the opportunity to present what I listened to the most, what made me the best impression, and what I spent most time with during this already gone worthless year.  After careful consideration, ULCERATE's cutting throats album took the highest spot. The severe competition came from Absolute Elsewhere which is super close behind. I'll keep on listening to these two in the future. And not only that. The whole list consists of very good albums that have the potential to stay a bit longer than usual. Let's see.
