MY TOP 20 FOR JUNE 2022

The first half of 2022 is gone. I still hope my distinguished readers bear with me and find my lists usable rather than useless... Why am I still doing these? I really don't know but they give a momentary picture in time and serve as a good reminder.

The wrap-up for H1 2022 for me? Quantity over quality, which means 2022 doesn't live up to the expectations. Yes, some great albums but in general it's a pedestrian year with too many releases that are easily forgotten. Or as I used to call them "fast food" - checking them, maybe listening one or two times, then comes the next one... 

June? Besides the obvious choices, there wasn't much for me. My notes consist of 43 records, out of them 25 are listed below. I simply stopped there without listing any more honorable mentions... I chose Temple of Void to be my leading album, but it could easily be White Ward or Kreator. You know it's a no particular order list. I guess I'll stay with some of June's releases longer than a while but let's wait and see how many of those will get into the AOTY list. Those that are missing? Maybe they are in my notes...

MY TOP 20 OF JANUARY 2024

The new year started with a kick in the ass. It's like 2023 never existed or everything merges in one big whole. The time is merciless. It is already the end of January and it is that time again when I usually post my favorite new releases of the respective month. January'24 could have been more inspiring, or after THAT 2023, now everything seems weaker? I do believe a lot of the below-listed albums are going to drown and I won't return much to them in the year. Still, few are going to be on my AOTY list.  What else? We have to be very grateful that in 2024 we have Saxon at full speed and they are releasing this good album. Naturally, it is my album of the month, closely followed by some very good UG releases.
