TIME FLIES: THE KLASSIKS THAT TURN 30 IN 2022

Continuing my travel back in time. This turned to be a regular publication over the last years on the blog. In 1992 I witnessed some fantastic metal releases that I randomly listed below. Some of them became one of the greatest albums ever released.  Back then I was a teenager and I was digging into the genre to the best I could, discovering bands after bands, and albums after albums, as many as were available on the local pirate market...Great times that I'll always remember. I got my first CD audio player, first OP t-shirts, got in high school, and yes - all the parties began. Life was absolutely careless... If we just think for a moment, in 1992 albums like The Number of the Beast, Black Metal, Screaming for Vengeance, Saints and Sinner, Restless and Wild, Blackout, Combat Rock etc, they all turn 40!!! In Solitude: COUNT VLAD'S ULTIMATE 2021 LIST

Another year went by. Too fast, right? Despite all the challenges and odd times we are living, life just passes by inevitably…In solitude.   “…everyone, everyday, everything has to end” The music has been with me through the whole year as usual. I bought too many physical releases again and tried to follow as many as possible new releases. And the new releases were extraordinary much. I mean we had 12 months with 400 releases per month! From my understanding, this is not normal. The quantity does not mean quality, and many albums could be missed, or underappreciated in the rush to listen to everything possible out there. The year was solid, but for sure it was the first weaker one compared to every other year from the 2014-2020 period. The new albums could easily be qualified from bad to mediocre to very good/excellent, but did we really have modern klassiks? I don’t’ think so.
