MY TOP 20 FOR MARCH 2020

March 2020. The worst month for mankind for many years. Pandemia.

Too much new music, an abundance of new albums. It was really a challenge to narrow down my list. Why? First of all because of the huge pile, and mostly because there were no real-real standouts. I mean, there are lots of equally good albums (or equally bad?).

I asked myself many times while I was checking the records: which albums and bands would I listen to in a year from now on, or even in on or two months? Which ones will I remember? Which ones will give chills and thrills? Because there are too many releases to which is given so much needless attention...I can say that just because I'm supporting the scene, the underground. The quantity killed quality.

I'm sure my list lacks of many popular albums. Oh well...So here it is the Pandemic list in no specific order - my top 20 choices out of March 2020 release pile + some honorable mentions.

I'm not even in a mood to put a short description and to explain why and what. Those who follow the scene, they know. The others - just go and check these artists and what they put out there. Trust me!

  It is again that time of the year when we reflect back and prepare the AOTY lists. As usual, I have a Black Metal Top List, Death Metal Top List, and AOTY List of course. And here we go! MY TOP 20 OF JANUARY 2024

The new year started with a kick in the ass. It's like 2023 never existed or everything merges in one big whole. The time is merciless. It is already the end of January and it is that time again when I usually post my favorite new releases of the respective month. January'24 could have been more inspiring, or after THAT 2023, now everything seems weaker? I do believe a lot of the below-listed albums are going to drown and I won't return much to them in the year. Still, few are going to be on my AOTY list.  What else? We have to be very grateful that in 2024 we have Saxon at full speed and they are releasing this good album. Naturally, it is my album of the month, closely followed by some very good UG releases. MY TOP 50 DEATH METAL ALBUMS OF 2024

I already published  MY TOP 50 BLACK METAL ALBUMS OF 2024 , so here comes the DEATH METAL of 2024! Death Metal did OK in 2024, with some really impressive releases! Now I take the opportunity to present what I listened to the most, what made me the best impression, and what I spent most time with during this already gone worthless year.  After careful consideration, ULCERATE's cutting throats album took the highest spot. The severe competition came from Absolute Elsewhere which is super close behind. I'll keep on listening to these two in the future. And not only that. The whole list consists of very good albums that have the potential to stay a bit longer than usual. Let's see.
