MY TOP 15 FOR MARCH 2019

I wasn't impressed by March. I was NOT.  Despite of enormous quantity of releases, barely nothing got me. I was honestly listening more to promos to upcoming releases, or catching up with some overlooked albums, or simply revisiting older favourites. That's why the present list was not easy to compile. As usual it consists of a bit more than 10 suggestions. As usual you should not expect the most famous bands in this list...Let's go - 15 in no particular order.

VENOM PRISON - Samsara

This was the surprise of the month for me. Brutal AF, with crisp clear sounding, and own atmosphere.
DRAWN INTO DESCENT - The Endless Endeavour

HAUNT - If Icarus Could Fly

Too soon after Burst into flame, still very enjoyable. Being in the same flow with 2018, and somehow appearing that the tracks were left outs from last years' album.

AKROTHEISM - The Law of Seven Deaths

This is so suffocating black metal. So claustrophobic. So dark.
ELLENDE - Lebensnehmer

Gorgeous atmospheric/post black metal three years after the amazing Todbringer. Ellende seem to be on their magical own path.

VIMUR - Triumphant Master of Fates

VLTIMAS - Something Wicked Marhes In

I didn't expect this album to be so good. Real twists and turns in BLAST. Well, we all know who are the band members.
NORDJEVEL - Necrogenesis

I was able to listen to the promo long enough in order to define the album as trve Norwegian black fkn metal.
MYSTICISM - Arcane Forest Rites
Release Date: 26 March 2019

UNBELIEVABLE! Yeah, the gems are discovered by chance! What an atmospheric black metal. I'm not fan of Void Ritual, but Daniel Jackson offers something completely different here. Absolutely gorgeous album!
NOCTURNAL HOLLOW - A Whisper of a Horrendous Soul

Because I love Swedish OSDM worship. HUGE! (The guys are from Venezuela though)


TOTALED - Lament 
Release Date: 29 March 2019

I had the chance to listen to this album just couple of times, but it was enough for me to include it in this list. Furious tunes!


RINGARË - Under Pale Moon
Release Date: 8 March 2019

Last but not least, Ringarë's mind-blowing atmospheric black metal with synth layers all over.

MY TOP 20 OF JANUARY 2024

The new year started with a kick in the ass. It's like 2023 never existed or everything merges in one big whole. The time is merciless. It is already the end of January and it is that time again when I usually post my favorite new releases of the respective month. January'24 could have been more inspiring, or after THAT 2023, now everything seems weaker? I do believe a lot of the below-listed albums are going to drown and I won't return much to them in the year. Still, few are going to be on my AOTY list.  What else? We have to be very grateful that in 2024 we have Saxon at full speed and they are releasing this good album. Naturally, it is my album of the month, closely followed by some very good UG releases. MY TOP 50 DEATH METAL ALBUMS OF 2024

I already published  MY TOP 50 BLACK METAL ALBUMS OF 2024 , so here comes the DEATH METAL of 2024! Death Metal did OK in 2024, with some really impressive releases! Now I take the opportunity to present what I listened to the most, what made me the best impression, and what I spent most time with during this already gone worthless year.  After careful consideration, ULCERATE's cutting throats album took the highest spot. The severe competition came from Absolute Elsewhere which is super close behind. I'll keep on listening to these two in the future. And not only that. The whole list consists of very good albums that have the potential to stay a bit longer than usual. Let's see.
