MY TOP 10 FOR JANUARY 2019
New year, new beginning... a lot of great music. Yes, January was huge in new releases. It was difficult to select the personal finest with such an abundance. As usual I wasn't able to pick just 10 releases and as usual I made a fatal 13 list, in no particular order. Probably I have missed something, but these 13 really deserve serious attention and listening.
EVERGREY - The Atlantic

Superb new album by the band. It just transcends you into another world.
PHLEBOTOMIZED - Deformation of Humanity
Release date: 7 January 2019
This is already one of the best DM albums of 2019. Released after 22 years of hiatus, with this album the band delivers mesmerizing quality.
VEILNBURNER - A Sire To The Ghouls Of Lunacy
Release date: 28 December 2018
What the fuk the label thought when releasing this masterpiece on 28 December 2018?! I included it in my January selection naturally. Death, experimental, psychotic, frantic...Mind blowing combination of music and moods.
SOILWORK - Verkligheten
Release date: 11 January 2019
Clean and polished, the brand new album of Soilwork might like to the unprejudiced UG fans and to the all mainstream ones. Carrying huge blast and anthemic ultra catchy choruses and melodies , it is already claimed as band's finest album up to date.
IMHA TARIKAT - Kara Ihlas
Release date: 18 January 2019
Being interested ONLY in the music of the duo, I must admit I was put into very euphoric state. Being a huge Bolzer fan, these guys are seriously kicking their pedestal...

The Flots team returns with a superb thrash album, reminder of their best times. The band seems to be in a great shape, kicking hard.
NAILED TO OBSCURITY - Black Frost

I have always loved this particular style, and finding NTO in 2017 was just a great pleasure. Black Frost simply proves that the band has a huge potential, delivering mesmerising sorrowful doom death tunes. Saw them live; have pic with Raimund. Enough said.
NOCTAMBULIST - Atmosphere of Desolation

The album is so intense and suffocating, that there can be only desolation left after listening to it. Pure eargasm for my DM ears while waiting for the next Spectral Voice. Mind you, this is the DEBUT album of the Denver quartet
Hermódr - Forest Sky
Release date: 25 Janury 2019
Atmospheric to the core, slow, even balladic BM. You can have a love dance even on certain parts..Finally very good production. And this is the main reason the album is so good.
MALEVOLENT CREATION - The 13th Beast

Included this album here just because it surprised me a lot. I love MC for their 91-93 albums only, however this one is simply one of their finest at all. High quality death metal. Really.
ALTARAGE - The Approaching Roar

Another suffocating and heavy AF record. Following the guys since their 2017 blast, now they convinced me in their ultra power. The beast really ROARS in this album, leaving dead bodies in the water...
YAWNING VOID - Streams Within
Release date: January 2019
What a doom/black/death atmospheric record. Cold, snowy. Slow, heavy, old school even. And that keys layers...
