MY TOP 10 FOR NOVEMBER 2018

November was very good month for the heavy music, delivering fantastic releases just before the very end of this glorious for the metal music year. I listened to a lot of new records, and payed homage to classics as well. As usual, it was difficult to pick up the ten finest. So in no particular order, I present my November 2018 Top 10. Definitely I may have missed something.

*listening how the year very silently moves and passes through the gates of time, leaving memories and wrinkles.

BURNING WITCHES - Hexenhammer
Release Date: 9 November

Warlock meets Phantom Blue in 2018. I was so captivated by this record. It's not typical for me, though I really enjoy it very much. Great riffs and melodies here.




BAST - Nanoångström 
Release Date: 23 November

 Profound, vast, dark. A dark matter floating through the mind and the body. Top notch existential blackened sludge to measure the tiniest distances of the cosmic space and human soul.

 The most beautiful despair, so deep, so painful, so bemused.

An autumn epos in noir. Doom, death, black, melodic and sorrowful.

A FLOCK NAMED MURDER - An Appointed Time
Release Date: 31 October

 Fantastic blackened sludge/doom. Heavy, mesmerizing, progressive. Sad. Painful. Stabbing.

UNREQVITED - Mosaic I: l'amot et l'ardeur
Release Date: 23 November

1914 - The Blind Leading The Blind
Release Date: 11 November

Glorious war record, containing death, black, doom...everything which can bring wounds and can leave dead bodies on the lonely battlefield...Only the echo of the wind can be heard... 


HRIZG - Soterion
Release date: 2 November

 Excellent atmospheric black metal. Got to this album by chance, but it turned to be among the best BM records of 2018.

DECEASED - Ghostly White
Release Date: 16 November

 I must admit this was huge surprise. However the album has it all - amazing melodies, riffs, tempo and even some nostalgic feeling. HUGE!

MY TOP LIST FOR MAY 2023 (Expanded)

May 2023 was an interesting month. Not many distinguished names, but rather bands and albums that get under the skin. In the meantime, I saw Watain and Pantera live and spent quite a good time with some old klassiks that helped me clean my ears from the contemporary sugar-coated plastic fantastic metal for dummies.
